How to stop smoking

My health was poor due to breathing difficulties. But I could not acknowledge this because I smoked. People with breathing problems should not smoke

I had tried lots of times to give it up with patches and everything but I could not do it for long. In the end I would have one and then feel bad for giving in – which made me more miserable and needing another one.

Then I lost my job because of ill health No job = no money. The money flow stopped. I was now living on a fraction of what I had been on before.

YET I still smoked. Why was I being so hopeless?

Then I remembered Jesus and I put it all to him in prayer. The answer to everything came in a flash. It was IMMEDIATE – in a blinking of an eye

If I give up smoking, I would have better health – I would have more money

It was so clear and so obvious I was astounded. I had told myself I could’nt give up smoking. I had tried several times in the past but always failed. I had told myself that patches etc were too expensive if I didn't manage to give up.

THIS TIME IT WAS DIFFERENT.

I WOULD GIVE UP GIVING UP.

Now I had Jesus beside me. He had suffered much more for me on the cross. Plus I had learned that my body was a temple to him and I should take great care of it. It must always be ready for His work. I just could not fail Him.

I have not smoked from that day on or even wanted to. It was that easy.

If you are struggling to give up smoking, give your heart to Jesus. Tell Him all your problems. Forgive all who have hurt you and he will give you a fresh clean start. DO IT TODAY

You will never look back. Your future will be just get better and better.

Why me ?

When you face something yourself, you know just what it's like when someone else is in the same situation. You are in a good position to help them as you have learned from it and have a deeper understanding. You grow a bond of awareness with them. A togetherness of shared experience. You are probably the best person to help them.

When you are low - go somewhere full of joy. When you are lonely, go out there and say hallo to someone new to you. They could be even more lonely than you. When you do something for someone else, you will benefit yourself greatly.

So shake off your past - you can't change it. Don't worry about your future - put it in the hands of Jesus. But most of all make the very best of today.

Believe and Receive

Replace thoughts of yesterdays mistakes with scriptural promises of your future. Everyday is a new day - make it free of the old baggage of your past. Hope will replace depression. Instead of looking behind thinking 'I can't' you will start to look ahead saying 'I can do all things with Jesus' and you will. You are not alone - you are part of a wonderful family. You are very special in the eyes of the Lord who loves you.

No matter what the situation, God does not want to punish you. He wants to forgive you and lift you up. So put the past behind you. When God forgives, he also forgets. Follow his example and forgive yourself too.

Believe and receive .

Pray with Results

Do you pray without expecting any results - thinking it probably won't do much good but it won't hurt to try ?

Unbelief looks at the past and says 'See, it can't be done' but Faith looks at the future and says 'It can be done and according the promises of God, IT IS DONE.

When you pray, be assured it will be done. Do not let any doubts creep in. Then be patient.

Matthew 11 22-26 - Jesus said 'What things soever ye desire when you pray, believe that you receive them. And when ye stand praying, forgive.'


When you pray, forgive and forget just as Jesus forgives you.
By releasing those who wrong us, our own prayers are answered but we must not bear grudges as these willl block the path.


Put your trust in Him and start living your new life - with no fears or problems
Look forward to your New Life and praise the name of the Lord.

No Problems

No-one is too "messed up" or has problems that are too deep that Jesus cannot resolve the effects completely.

If you have deep problems such as past abuse, addiction, self-harm, or trauma I want to assure you that you are not a hopeless case but can be made new again through the love of Jesus Christ. He knows all your struggles and loves you and is there for you.

There is nothing is too difficult for God, and so no-one is so wounded or emotionally damaged that He cannot bring them through to complete wholeness in Christ.

If this sounds like you, there is something you can do. Just commit yourself to Jesus. You can begin by praying -

'Lord Jesus, I have chosen the wrong road and ask you to forgive me. Today I seek a new life by choosing your way. Please deliver me from this bondage and fill me with your Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord.'

Remember no matter what the situation, God does not want to punish you. He wants to forgive you and lift you up. So put the past behind you. When God forgives, he forgets too. When you put your trust in Him you can start living your new life - with no problems

Get a New Life This Easter

Most people have heard of the 10 Commandments but far fewer understand Easter beyond the fact that Christ was put on the cross and crucified for our sins.

The 10 commandments were part of the old covenant, which God could see was not working. His people just didn’t believe despite all the miracles he had shown them. How were they going to believe things they could not see.

The Old Covenant failed because man was unable to keep his part of the agreement.

God made the final sacrifice, the once and for all sacrifice. His only Son was put on the cross and died. It is His blood that takes away all sins.

This New Covenant is not an agreement between God and man, with each having conditions to make it work. This one is not chiselled into stone but is written on the hearts of man and is maintained by God and therefore just cannot fail.

It has His laws placed into the hearts and minds of His people. Law is fulfilled, not by the performance of man, but by the performance of God.

Therefore you have the guarantee of life everlasting. a direct link with God and salvation.

THIS EASTER - Give your heart to Jesus.

Well, you might go to church today, like you always do at Christmas - but you get a load of chocolate eggs to eat and another day off work tomorrow.

Do you ever think you may be missing the main point here ? Did no-one tell you the news ?

Something happened that not only changed your life and that of your family, but the future of all who went before you and those who are yet to come.

GOD PUT HIS SON JESUS IN THE HIGHEST PLACE AND GAVE YOU A LIFELONG FRIEND AND COUNSELLOR. YOU HAVE THE CHOICE OF LIFE EVERMORE IF YOU GIVE YOUR HEART TO HIM AND BELIEVE.

Why oh why

Everyone was rejoicing on Palm Sunday - throwing their coats to the ground for Jesus' donkey to walk on and waving palm leaves in celebration.

So what went wrong. Why did everything change. Why was he crucified?

If he came today, would it happen again ?

THIS IS NO TIME TO GIVE UP

Don't give up now - God has not given up on you.

If you turn to Christ - God will adopt you into his family - no matter who you are or what you have done. This is open to all. The Lord's prayer states he is OUR FATHER. Everyone.

Your salvation does not depend on how good you are, but on Jesus Christ and what he did for you. You cannot earn salvation. In fact he chose you because you are very precious to him and he sees you without blemish.

He went to the cross and he died for you. All your sins — every one of them — were placed on him and if you truly believe in Him, you have a clean sheet from the very moment you give your heart to him.

God’s will is for us to turn away from sin, and let Christ take control of our lives. The Gospel will show you how to live a life full of love and praise.

Imitate the ways of Christ. He is our guide.

You won't always succeed but you can admit your temptations and tell him you need his help to overcome them. He knows you just can’t defeat them on your own. He knows all about you - there's no need to explain. You are no longer alone with your troubles.

The Bible tells us that "nothing in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:39). Surround yourself with other Christians. They will encourage and help you.

Start now and make Easter a date to remember. The time you really changed things for the better and for good.
